Dear Friends,
We would like you to join us for a special evening of celebration:
This important Islamic holy night, Lailat al Qadr, (the Night of Destiny) is the anniversary of the occasion when the first verses of the Qur’an were revealed by Angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in a Meccan cave in the early morning hours of the year 610C.E. during the month of Ramadan.
Our hosts, Bahiyaa Ann Holmes Redding and Imam Jamal Rahman, will share stories and teachings about this majestic sacred night. Islamic chanting and Qur’anic recitation will be woven throughout the program.
We will briefly break our fast at 8:31PM, followed by sunset prayers. Subsequently, after prayers, we will participate in a more lengthy break-fast in our individual homes.
Following our individual iftar (break-fast), we shall regroup on Zoom at 9:30PM to begin our late night Prayer Vigil, which will include praying Isha at 10:15PM. More details about the Late Night Prayer Vigil will follow.
