"Love is our religion"

Bio – I was raised as a very committed Christian.  By the time I went to college in the early 70’s, I realized that although I wanted to be part of a church, it couldn’t be Lutheran.  After 20 years of half-hearted searching, I stumbled upon the Center for Spiritual Living.  I should have known it would be a wild ride, when instead of a cross on Easter Sunday, the stage was filled with stuffed rabbits.  This was my first experience with interfaith and I learned bits of many religious traditions.  My beliefs were tested and stretched in beautiful, and sometimes troubling ways.

Eventually, I learned about the Interfaith Community Sanctuary and it was here that I met Sr. Lucy and got to know Maher as an amazing interfaith community.  Miracles took on a new meaning as I saw it grow from a single home for a few destitute women to over 75 homes for 2,000 children, women and elderly men.  I learned the literal meaning of “There’s always room for one more.”
