Album Release Event with 4 folk bands
"Pool, a new album by Brother Dragon (LA), will be celebrated on May 9th, 2026 from 6:30-10:00 pm at Interfaith Community Sanctuary with support from Tiny Vipers (Seattle), Power Strip (Seattle), and Water Shrews (Portland). Pool is a collection of 16 tracks from 16 friends and artists from across the world who have reimagined selections of Brother Dragons previous release, Wild Postures.
Brother Dragon is a musical project by Jonathan Atchley that emphasizes a minimal approach through inwardness and a created mythology within the traditions of dark ambient, drone, field recordings, and experimental singer-songwriter.
Wild Postures, the Brother Dragon album that inspired this current release (Pool), is the continued existential expression, through a created mythology, of the paradoxes found within futility and a higher good being (God) - and how they have spoken to Jonathan through nature, prayer, silence, and time. For an in depth write-up on Wild Postures and Pool please visit brotherdragon.bandcamp.
Also joining us are Seattle natives Tiny Vipers and Power Strip. They have also played around the world with their variations of singer/songwriter, folk, shoe-graze, and experimental ambient. Water Shrews is a free-form/improvised experimental band from Portland that incorporates anything that can make a sound into their fluid performances.
Please join us for an evening of celebration. There will be live music, cold non-alcoholic drinks, books, tapes, CDs, shirts, drawings, and much more." Love offering suggested: $10-$20. Flyer attached.
