Dear Ones,
Next month our second Saturday is February 14th. This would usually be our SiSiWiss Medicine Circle with Healing Ceremony day. However, this 2nd Saturday of Feb. is Valentine's day, and we will have a memorial for our sister Monica who passed on Jan. 9th, 2026. Pre-pandemic times we had ceremony to honor Valentines day as a day to share love ( not just romantic love) and our sister Monica advocated for Valentines Day ceremony when it began to dwindle. It would be most appropriate to honor the life of our loving sister on our second Saturday that is also Valentines Day!
Details for Feb. 14th:
Where: Interfaith Community Sanctuary (Fellowship Hall) 1763 NW 62nd St. Seattle 98107. Parking lot is on the west side of the building. There is street parking too)
Time: Beginning at 11:30 am until (?) approximately 5pm
If your way is open please bring (not obligatory):
Please bring a potluck dish to share for a Potluck feast and gifts for a community pachelth( give-away).
We'll also have a lighting and brushing ceremony after the memorial service.
Our sister had been a member of our SiSiWiss Medicine Circle for several years. She had also spent significant time with successfully gaining higher education and had been teaching elementary school age children. So there were times we saw her regularly, and times we didn't see her very much due to studies and teaching. However,Monica had been joining our SiSiWiss Women's online Medicine Circle a lot this past year. Monica will be greatly missed! Please know everyone is invited, whether you knew sisiem Monica or not. We support each other through our sorrow by being together to celebrate a beautiful soul/woman's life.
Any suggested 'to bring items' are not obligatory. We suggest the ways you can help if you feel the desire to help. Most fo all we honor your presence to the ceremonies. eHychka
P.S. Food that has already been planned:
One sister is bringing pezole, corn chips and a dessert. Am bringing MX chicken and rice. Hoping this helps with what to bring if or when you bring food. All the food doesn't need to be Mexican, yet we want to have some MX food to honor our sister Monica's culture/tradition. Valentines Day is a holiday our sisiem Monica loved. We are making it a Valentines Day theme. That may help you when thinking about what to bring. Also, this is still winter ceremonial time, so we will still use the winter circle protocol for those of you that know the protocol. Its traditional to share some tela ($)coins and paper $ for different parts of the ceremonies. If your way is open to bring a donation for ICS for use of the space, that would be very much appreciated.
